The large majority of its sales now come through its website, driven by focused email marketing, targeted paid-for click-throughs, a new CRM platform for social media and more than five million visits to its YouTube channel. “How2Become is so sophisticated in the way it approaches its digital marketing, and superb at analysing what’s working and what’s not,” judges said. How2Become secures this Award for a second successive year, having impressed again in 2016 with campaigns including YouTube videos and a new ‘customer funnelling’ strategy. It led to a steep rise in sales, more than half of which were made direct to consumers from its website. “A lot of big corporates could learn from how it segments audiences and uses non-traditional channels,” judges said. “For a company of its size the marketing is a massive achievement.”

How2Become Ltd has once again been shortlisted for multiple IPG awards in 2016. For the first time, How2become has been nominated for three categoires, something only one other publsiher has managed to do in 2016. We have been nominated for the Nielsen Digital Marketing Award, as well as the IPG Specialist Consumer Publisher of the Year, and our operations director Joshua Brown is up for the IPG Young Independent Publisher of the Year. The Independent Publishers Guild is delighted to unveil the shortlists for the 2012 IPG Independent Publishing Awards, run in association with The Bookseller and The London Book Fair. The shortlists for the sixth annual awards feature some 20 different companies and four individuals. How2Become was short-listed in the Best Newcomer category on the back of rising print sales, downloads and web visits since launching.
